Rochester Global Entrepreneurship (GEW) week features events to celebrate, educate, and inspire area entrepreneurs.
This year, GEW Rochester will hold fifteen entrepreneurial events in our region. Featured events include a Regional Entrepreneurs Panel, where GEW extends beyond the borders of Rochester. The event will highlight successful entrepreneurs from around the region as they talk about starting and growing their business in Southern Minnesota. Another exciting event is Emerging Entrepreneurs Demo Night. This evening is filled with entrepreneurial and small business demos from emerging high school innovators and local companies. For the second year, Rochester Area Values Entrepreneurs (RAVE) will bring together the local business community to celebrate Rochester entrepreneurship, the perfect way to close out GEW 2015.
Check back in the coming weeks as we announce several more events. Stay up-to-date with the latest information by checking the GEW Rochester website, viewing the GEW Calendar of Events and Twitter hashtag #gewroch.
Youth Startup Weekend Rochester Fundraiser
While most events are free of charge, most events will have a special “DONOR” ticket as well. All proceeds from these donations will go to Youth Startup Weekend Rochester, an exciting partnership between Rochester Public Schools, Techstars++, and local entrepreneurs to inspire high school students to explore entrepreneurship.
Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) is the world’s largest celebration of the innovators and job creators who launch startups that bring ideas to life, drive economic growth, and expand human welfare.
During one week each November, GEW inspires people everywhere through local, national, and global activities designed to help them explore their potential as self-starters and innovators. These activities, from large-scale competitions and events to intimate networking gatherings, connect participants to potential collaborators, mentors and even investors—introducing them to new possibilities and exciting opportunities in cities all around the globe.
GEW is more than just an awareness campaign. It is a platform for connection and collaboration—engaging all players along the entrepreneurship spectrum in strengthening ecosystems around the world. Check out GEW's website for more information.
